#Freepatterns

Im going to try to find at least one free pattern a Week relating to knitting sewing or crochet.

Todays pattern is a link to a lovely sock pattern by Stylecraft. As always i have suitable yarn for any project in the shop, these will eventually work their way on to the online shop x🥰

#Ta Da – Finishing UFO’s

My first blanket and by far largest crochet project to date!

6 balls of Stylecraft special DK yarn, i used only a size 3.5 hook, so probably made them smaller and tighter than the tutorial. Lots of leftovers.

Loved making the hexagons, they only take 10-15 minutes each, easy to pick up and down. Loved doing the borders, very peaceful.

If it hadnt been for lockdown it would have been another 12 months to finish as I chose to sew it together, this was not fun, however I did eventually find a rhythm and persevered.

Perfect colours for my wee sitting room.

If youd like a tutorial let me know. Great project as you can use up scraps as they only take 3 grams per hexegon ( weigh your own to check) and could turn into quite a creation. Mines is 168 hexagons 504 grams plus the borders.

Whats not to love – Free patterns 🥰

Theres nothing nicer than a free pattern or two using your favourite Brands, i thought i would start to feature a few here as well as on my facebook page. I stock all of the products in my shop so if you don’t see it on Website just get in touch as have far more items in store.

This pattern is by Stylecraft, a gorgeous stocking advent calendar made using Stylecraft Highland Heather.

Costal Inspired Hexagon Blanket

This is my current work in progress, its a costal inspired Hexagon blanket, well actually, I had intended making a bed runner but the sewing together is driving me nuts🤣 just me being slow.

Ive chosen this project as its easy to pick up and put down, just what I need while the house is being revamped🥰 and I cant easily access my sewing machine. Each Hexagon takes around 10-15 minutes to make and i made up around 200 before i started sewing them together.

I’ve opted to sew mine together and initially I used the lightest yarn per side but three rows 😖 in I reverted to silver. I now lay out my selection for the next strip, sew the strip together, then i attach it to the main blanket. The great thing is its now the perfect size to keep me cosy as the nights draw in and the temperature drops.

The recipe for mine (you can trade out a colour pallet to suit) is Stylecraft Special DK, 7 or 14 balls depending on your finished size requirement. Im going for the 14 balls.

Midnight
Petrol
Storm Blue
Duck egg
Gold
Cream
Silver

on the site you can choose a mixed pack of 10 balls for £18 and just add the additional colours if your doing a big one. Better still round it up to 2 x 10 packs and make it up with colours to built your stash for best savings x

Ill see about doing a small video showing the pattern for a hexagon but essentially it three rounds of appropriately spaced trebles. Another time saver I’d consider in future would be five rows of trebles.

I hope you like it 🥰
